In July 2015, a few bright and inspired minds came together to redefine education by preparing students with technical skills needed to succeed in a digital future, and also with an arsenal of soft skills high in demand in the modern workplace. These innovators further sought to impart on students a deep understanding of the potential of these skills for creating local and global social impact.
The aim was to design an educational experience that was hands-on, immersive, and encouraged learning by doing. And so, RED Academy was born.
From humble beginnings, RED grew to offer courses in:
Small, part-time classes evolved into 3-6 month bootcamps, and 1-2 year work-study programs popular among international students.
A community partnership program emerged to provide pro bono development, design, and marketing services to non-profits and social impact businesses, and also to give RED students an opportunity to practice their newly learned skills with the partners as their clients.
We bonded together over social events, hosted prominent thought leadership happenings, and grew a community. That community today spans thousands of alumni and friends from all over the world.
Over the course of the nearly five years since its founding, RED Academy has attracted staff of the highest integrity and utmost dedication to the student experience - spanning that first contact with RED to in-class learning to career support post-graduation.
It has been an incredible run which has sadly now come to an end as of March 27, 2020 when RED Academy ceased operations.
Though this ending is melancholy, it is also a chance to look back on how much we accomplished and how many students and community partners we helped in making prominent life changes or reaching the next foothold in business growth! We are incredibly grateful for everyone that has crossed our paths since RED began, and it is with this outlook that we’re excited about this new beginning.
It's time to say goodbye to RED Academy, but the #REDfam is still around, and that means there is a lot of incredible talent currently on the market!
